Benromach 10 years old

This is going to be my first Whisky Review online. The whisky I am going to be reviewing is the Benromach 10 years old, 43% bottled in 2014. This whisky is the best whisky of 2014 according to Ralfy, which means that the score he gives it is at least 88. Now lets see what I make of this whisky.

These are the tasting notes from the distiller:

  • Nose: rich sherry with fruit & nut chocolate, delicate spice, green apples, malty biscuit and a touch of light peat smoke.
  • Taste: juicy raspberries and brambles, sherry, creamy malt and a light peat.
  • Finish: the toasted malt, delicate peat smoke and lingering sweet sherry.

Followed by what I make of it when I tasted it, initially I tasted it blind, so I had no idea what whisky it was. This makes it more special when you think of it, since I am unbiased at that time.
